    According to the tax law for importing car in BD cost+90%+Registration plus you personal shipping (price depends on the vehicle weights).

    So for an example say you importing the Lexus LX 570 the car price 67k us dollar + the 90% of the tax would add the price to 128k us dollar plus the shipping weight that can lead to upto 5k us dollar and the registration is around 2 lakh-4lakh in bd taka. so now let's see how much this Lexus is really costing you in Bd taka.

    128k = 89lakh
    5k = 3.5 lakh
    3.0 lakh for registration

    So the car is costing you 95 lakh which is still cheaper than the Navana intend to sale they will sell it for 1cr35lak to 1cr45lak

    oh i got it !!! thanks a lot bro!!

    btw registration in 2006 for 1.5ltr cars were 75000 and for 1500cc and above it is around to 90..its not that much as 4 lks in tk...

    >now i heard they have increased the registration price..plus there is also a VAT nd a road tax...(not 100% sure tho) need to knw abt this too..SO if there is a VAT needed to be paid for my PRIVATE car import do I pay it to the "importer?" (the company or ship bringing my car) (<<<need to knw abt this if there is any VAT thing here for pvt car import)

    ALL I KNOW is that if i'm buying the car from a showroom then i have to give a VAT to them..i had to give 5000tk vat to a showroom when i bought a 1500cc car last feb2006).

    one last thing..if i want to import a car of my own separately then is it possible to get help of a company which has shipping vessels importing and exporting overseas? or is it like i have to tell a shipping company which is only bringing recondition/brand new cars to Bd as ordered by our BD showrooms?

    (my family business does not have relation with any shipping thing so it's not possible for me of bring the car in our company's imported things in a ship)

    Well since u have lot's of question let me explain everything. First to import any Vehicles on your own u have to open a LC with a Bank in Bangladesh and import it towards the LC and the VAT have to be paid to Transportation authority at the port. And as far as the shipping company involve you can ask any well know logistic company to do your shipping I'll recommend Conveyor logistics there address is
